May 12, 2026 (6:30 - 7:30 PM)
Join FoRR for the fourth talk in our Reedy River speaker series, By the Banks. Grab a brew and hear from scientists, storytellers, and the river experts about everything from local ecology to urban runoff.
On May 12, experts from the SC Native Plant Society and Furman University will highlight the connections between native plants, native birds, and healthy river systems. Speakers Rick Huffman and Dr. John Quinn will explore riverside habitats, the role of native plants in supporting local wildlife systems, and how urban river landscapes sustain biodiversity. Together, the conversation will illustrate how restoring native vegetation directly supports the birds and pollinators who call our Reedy River watershed home.
No RSVP needed. We hope to see you there!
Event Notes: Please arrive around 6 PM to socialize, grab a beverage, and order snacks or dinner to enjoy while our presenters share their stories! We can't wait to see you soon!
